China’s total exports and imports reached 20.1 trillion yuan in the first half of the year, exceeding 20 trillion yuan mark for the first time on record and rising by 2.1% from a year earlier, according to the China’s General Administration of Customs.Â
In breakdown, China’s exports rose 3.7% to 11.46 trillion yuan, while imports fell 0.1% to 8.64 trillion yuan.
Private companies’ exports and imports grew by 8.9% year over year, accounting for 52.7% of the total, it said.
The total exports of electric passenger vehicles, lithium batteries and solar battery surged by 61.6%, driving the country’s total export growth by 1.8 percentage points, it said.
