China’s auto exports reached 408,000 units in Aug, up 3.9% on month, up 32.1% on year – industry association

China exports 408,000 units of automobiles in August, surging 32.1% from a year earlier and up 3.9% from the previous month, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. 

In the first eight months of the year, China exports 2.94 million units of vehicles, surging 61.9% from a year earlier, according to the data.

In breakdown, exports of conventional fuel vehicles reached 318,000 units in August, up 9.2% from the month before and up 41% from a year ago, while exports of new energy vehicle sales reached 90,000 units, up 8.1% from a year ago, but down 11.2% on month.

Exports of passenger cars reached 349,000 units in August, up 7% from the prior month and up 34.2% from a year earlier, while exports of commercial vehicle reached 59,000 units, up 21.4% from a year earlier, but sliding 11.2% from the month before.
