China’s cyberspace regulator to launch two-month campaign targeting platforms for miners

The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) and other departments will launch a two-month special campaign focusing on short-video live-streaming, social and learning apps and online games, e-commerce and child intelligence equipment platforms frequently used by minors, aiming at solve the chaos tied to underage nationals, according to China’s state broadcaster CCTV.

The regulator urges websites and platforms against making people aged below 16 live-streaming anchors, and pledged to conduct investigation into players who lure minors into live-stream tipping.

In addition, the CAC told platforms to step up management of content on smart watch, tablets and other devices that are specially designed for miners.
