China's excavator sales surged in February from a year earlier due to low comparison base as well as robust market demand and analysts expect the momentum to remain strong this year amid infrastructure push and tougher emission rules.

China's 26 major machinery makers sold a total of 28,305 units of excavators in February, surging 205 per cent from the same period last year, including 24,562 sold domestically, up 256 per cent, and 3,743 units sold overseas, up 57.9 per cent, according to data released by the China Construction Machinery Association.
