China’s factory activity expanded for 2nd straight month in Apr, production picked up, demand grew at slower pace

China’s factory activity expanded for the second consecutive month in April, though at a slow growth, according to China's official data.

The manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI) came in at 50.4 in April, staying above the 50 mark that separate expansion and contraction for the second straight month, but falling by 0.4 percentage point from the previous month, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
