China’s non-manufacturing sector expanded at slower pace in Apr

China’s non-manufacturing activity expanded at a slower pace in April, with the official non-manufacturing PMI coming in at 51.2, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, compared to expected 52.3 and a reading of 53 in the previous month.

In breakdown, the sub-index tracking the construction sector came in at 56.3, rising slightly from 56.2 in the previous month, while the sub-index for the service sector came in at 50.3, falling from 52.4 in the previous month, showed the data.

By sector, the gauge from the railway transportation, road transportation, postal service, telecommunication broadcasting and television sectors were above 55, while that for the catering, capital market services and real estate sectors were in the contractionary territory, said the NBS.
