China's new energy vehicle manufacturers recorded strong sales in September amid recovering demand, with several firms setting a new monthly record, and more local governments announced stimulus measures to support the sector after the coronavirus fallout.

The US-listed electric car maker Nio delivered 4,708 vehicles last month, surging 133.2 per cent from a year earlier, according to a filing. It setting a new monthly delivery record, marking seven months of consecutive year-on-year growth.

That brings Nio’s total deliveries in the third quarter of 2020 to 12,206 vehicles . . .
