Auto sales in China surged in March for their 12th consecutive month of gains, as the world’s biggest car market leads the sector’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Car sales totaled 2.53 million units in March, surging 74.9 per cent from a year earlier, showed data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the country's largest auto industry body. In the first three months of the year, the country sold 6.48 million vehicles, up 75.6 per cent from a year ago, showed the data.
