German automaker Mercedes-Benz said that its car sales in China market reached 183,600 units in Q2 of the year, rising by 12% from a year earlier, and in the first half of the year, its car sales reached 374,600 units, rising by 7%.
The carmaker’s global car sales reached 515,700 units in the quarter, rising by 6% from a year earlier, bringing its first-half sales to 1,019,200 units, up 5% year over year. In particular, Mercedes-Benz’s passenger battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales reached 56,300 units in Q2, surging of 123% from a year earlier, and its BEV sales in the first half of the year reached 102,600 units.
