Embattled property developer China Evergrande Group has been ordered by the local authorities in Danzhou, Hainan province, to demolish 39 "illegal" residential buildings.
A document circulating online shows that 39 residential buildings with a total floor area of 434,900 square meters on Haihua Island, a resort project developed by a subsidiary of China Evergrande, were determined to be illegal and the company has been ordered to demolish the buildings.
