China is expected to see 100 million tourist trips during this year’s Dragon Boat Festival holiday, higher than the level in the same period in 2019 and tourism revenue is expected to reach 37 billion yuan, with most tourists choosing short-distance travels, according to the China Tourism Academy, a think tank under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Hotel prices and average air ticket prices for the holiday are slightly lower than the prices for the May Day holiday, according to state broadcaster CCTV, citing multiple travel service platforms.
Cities including Beijing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Qingdao are among the most popular domestic tourist destinations, it said.
