China’s auto sales fell 9% on month in Jul, down 1.4% on year – industry association

China’s auto sales reached 2.387 million units in July, falling by 9% from the previous month and down 1.4% from a year earlier, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. 

Auto production reached 2.4 million units last month, falling by 6.2% from the prior month and down 2.2% from a year ago, showed the data.

In the first seven months of the year, China’s auto sales reached 15.63 million units, rising by 7.9% year over year, while auto output reached 15.65 million units, rising by 7.4%, said the association.

China exports 392,000 units of cars in July, rising by 35.1% from a year earlier, said the association. 

In the first seven months of the year, China exported 2.53 million units of cars, surging 67.9% year over year, it said.
