China’s cabinet vows to take more vigorous measures to boost economy

Chinese Premier Li Qiang chaired a State Council meeting on Friday to study a series of measures to support the economy, according to state broadcaster CCTV.

China’s economic operation is recovering as previously announced policies take effect, and meanwhile, the external environment has become more complex and severe and the global trade and investment slows down, the meeting said.

China must take more vigorous measures to strengthen development momentum, optimize economic structure, and promote a sustained economic recovery, it said. 

The meeting vowed to step up macro policy adjustment, expand effective demand, strengthen and optimize the real economy, prevent and resolve risks in key areas. 

The regulator studied a series of policy measures, stressed that appropriate measures should be introduced in a timely manner, and implemented as soon as possible, and vowed to increased policy reserve, it said.
